Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Sen. Rodante Marcoleta
MANILA — Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson retaliated against Sen. Rodante Marcoleta after being called “epal” (attention-seeker) and “pasikat” (show-off) on a television program due to his privilege speech regarding alleged anomalous flood control projects.
Lacson stated that he does not like conflict but will fight back if attacked.
“I don’t like fights. But if he attacks us, I will attack him too!”, warned Lacson.
“He said we are interfering with him. No one is interfering here. I just want to correct the misimpression that Sen. Marcoleta is creating,” added Lacson.
Lacson clarified that he only requested the blue ribbon committee to change the hearing date scheduled for this Monday because it coincides with an important briefing on the proposed ₱6.793-trillion national budget.
“In his TV program, he criticized us, saying we are interfering with his mandate. No one is interfering here. We all want to improve the government’s operations,” said Lacson in an interview.
