Apologetic, Apol regretted shouting at the young girl earlier. She was startled when she sensed someone in the yard. Her first reaction was anger. She wished she had thought first. Next time, she won’t act like that. She shouldn’t humiliate others just because of guavas.

Since then, the girl never entered Apol’s yard again to pick guavas. She had become afraid of Apol.

AFTER a month, Apol inspected the guava tree.

There were many fruits, some already ripe—a sign that no one was interested in taking them anymore.

Perhaps the girl really wouldn’t dare take guavas again. She was truly scared now.

The following week, she saw that the guavas were ripe. She decided to pick them and climbed the tree.

While busy harvesting, someone called out to her.
