The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) announced a key leadership change, with Lyn Javier assuming the role of Deputy Governor of the Financial Supervision Sector (FSS), succeeding former Deputy Governor Chuchi Fonacier, who retired earlier.
According to the BSP, Javier will lead the central bank in supervising banks and other financial institutions under its jurisdiction, in line with its mandate of promoting financial stability.
Javier joined the BSP as a Bank Officer in its supervision sector in 1998 and rose through the ranks to become Assistant Governor of the FSS’ Policy and Specialized Supervision Sub-Sector in 2021.
She holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Ateneo de Manila University and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accountancy from the University of the Philippines, graduating cum laude.
Prior to her appointment, Javier served as the BSP representative to the Basel Consultative Group, the Executives’ Meeting of East Asia-Pacific Central Banks Working Group on Banking Supervision, and the Network for Greening the Financial System-Workstream on Scaling Up Green Finance.
