MANILA – Boosting the country’s artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem is a major goal of the Department of Science and Technology – Advanced Science and Technology Institute.
In a press conference in Quezon City, the agency targets to create an inclusive, resilient and people-centered AI ecosystem.
Part of the strategy to achieve this goal is the launch of the Nexus of AI Research and Applications (NAIRA) last month.
“It aims to give users, particularly government agencies, MSMEs, and researchers, ready access to AI tools as well as collaborative opportunities,” the director mentioned.
From 2025 to 2026, the NAIRA project seeks to train over 600 individuals about AI fundamentals in academic, public and private sectors.
