San-en Neophoenix Basketball Players Visit Governor Omura to Report Regional Championship Victory and Advocate for Participation in Referendum on New Arena in Aichi

The players of the professional basketball team “San-en Neophoenix”, based in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture, reported their district championship victory to the governor.

The players who visited Aichi Prefecture’s Governor Omura today are from the professional basketball “B League”, team “San-en Neophoenix”. In the B League, where 8 teams compete in three districts, “San-en Neophoenix” has secured the district championship for two consecutive seasons.

“We updated the team record with 22 consecutive wins, and it was a good season,” said a player from San-en Neophoenix.

In Toyohashi City, a referendum concerning the new arena project, which is expected to become the new base for the team, is scheduled to coincide with the Senate election voting.

The Mayor of Toyohashi City, Naoto Nagasaka, has stated that he will respect the results of the referendum.
