Western Asia tensions cause Sensex to slip.

Tensions in Western Asia affect the Sensex

Mumbai, June 17. With the escalation of the Iran-Israel conflict, investors adopted a cautious stance and engaged in profit-taking on Tuesday after a sharp rally in the previous session, leading to a decline in the local stock market. The Sensex was down 213 points and the Nifty lost 93 points.

Analysts said that investors also adopted a wait-and-see strategy due to rising global crude oil prices and the upcoming decision on interest rates by the US Federal Reserve at the end of this week.

The Sensex closed down 212.85 points at 81,583.30. During trading, it had dropped by 369.14 points to 81,427.01 at one point.
