On the evening of July 9, the highly anticipated core area of Tianmei Art District will officially light up, coinciding with the launch of the first Haihe Youth Art Season. With a total investment of 1.012 billion yuan and spanning 22.6 hectares, this art ecosystem integrates six key sectors: cultural spaces, art education, lifestyle experiences, aesthetic living, social entertainment, and diverse dining. Hebei District’s Housing and Urban-Rural Development Commission pioneered a four-zone collaborative model to overcome renewal challenges. “Through land swaps and resource revitalization, fragmented plots were consolidated into developable land. This not only improved spatial quality but also clarified property rights and resolved long-standing issues.” The project revitalized 17,000 square meters of university facilities and repurposed 18,000 square meters of idle space. Tianmei Art District thrives by blurring physical and functional boundaries. Its core zone, dubbed “Tianjin’s Aesthetic Powerhouse,” debuts flagship stores like Goose Island and Qingxi Yan alongside local favorites like Liubai Tea House. “Embedded art installations and curated cultural lounges turn art from ‘exhibits’ into ‘everyday experiences,’ inviting visitors to ‘engage’ rather than just ‘observe.’ We want guests to linger for a meal or an exhibition.”

Community welfare remains central to the renewal. The project prioritized resident needs, renovating five nearby aging neighborhoods (including Yuanjili) and benefiting 1,086 households. Critical issues, like the lack of gas supply in Dongjian Dao community, were resolved.
