Benghazi – The committee formed by the decision of the President of the Libyan House of Representatives No. (115) of 2025, regarding the study and comprehensive review of laws related to communications and the digital space, has actually begun reviewing current legislation.

The meeting was chaired by the member of the Communications and Transport Committee, and was held via direct video link, with the participation of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of the Libyan government, along with committee members and a number of specialists in the communications sector.

The meeting reviewed the laws in force in the communications sector, identifying several pieces of legislation, including the Communications Law and the Cybercrime Law.

At the conclusion of the meeting, committee members agreed to proceed with reviewing and studying current laws, organizing workshops, and holding consultative meetings with state institutions, the private sector, civil society, and universities, with the aim of formulating an integrated legislative system covering communications, information technology, the digital space, personal data protection, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence.
