On the morning of August 29th, students from the executive committee announced the event lineup for the autumn sports festival in the hall of Oodeno Elementary School.

“This year, we will have the Red and White Representative Relay because it fits all four of our themes.”

Since last year, the sports festival has been primarily organized by the students themselves.

The city’s educational policy promotes children’s self-expression and participation in autonomous activities. Student involvement in planning and managing school events aligns with this educational policy.

Preparations began in April. Three committee members from each 5th and 6th-grade class were selected to form the executive committee. They started discussions by deciding on the sports festival’s theme.

The first meeting with the teachers was held on May 8th.
