On April 16, 2026, the Sapporo Minami Police Station announced that a man working at a power plant in Minami Ward, Sapporo, slipped and fell from a slope, resulting in his death.

The accident occurred at the Moiwa Power Plant located at Minami 33-jo Nishi 11-chome, Minami Ward, Sapporo.

Shortly after 2:30 PM on the 16th, a colleague of the man reported to the fire department that “a man has fallen from a height.”

According to police, a male worker in his 60s slipped and fell from a slope while performing some task within the power plant grounds.

The man was transported to a hospital unconscious, and his death was later confirmed.

Police are investigating the detailed circumstances of the incident by interviewing the man’s colleagues and other means.
