Voting for the House of Councillors election began today, with a turnout of 7.14% by 10 a.m., lower than the previous election.

In this House of Councillors election, the Hokkaido electoral district has 12 candidates competing for three seats up for renewal.
According to the Hokkaido Election Administration Commission, the turnout in standard voting districts across the prefecture was 7.14% as of 10 a.m., 0.69 points lower than the previous election three years ago.
Voting will close at 8 p.m. at most polling stations, with counting to take place immediately.
