Gifu Prefecture has announced that influenza activity has reached warning levels and is calling for thorough infection prevention measures.
According to reports, during the week from the 17th to the 23rd, the number of influenza patients reported at designated medical institutions in the prefecture reached 45.60 per medical facility, a sharp increase from the previous week’s 22.78.
Since this exceeded the warning threshold of 30 people, the prefecture issued an “influenza warning” about one month earlier than last season.
During the week from the 17th to the 23rd, seven facilities in Gifu Prefecture closed entirely, while 50 facilities implemented grade-level closures and 98 facilities implemented class-level closures.
The prefecture is urging thorough infection prevention measures, including hand washing after going out and proper cough etiquette.
