TANGERANG – The Tangerang City Government continues to strive to create a comfortable, safe, and sustainable urban environment. Planned spatial planning is key so that city development not only drives economic growth but also maintains environmental balance.

To achieve this, the Tangerang City Government involves the community and various stakeholders through a public discussion forum, namely the 1st Public Consultation regarding the Technical Material for the Revision of the Spatial Plan (RTRW) and the Strategic Environmental Assessment (KLHS), held in the Al Amanah Hall of the Tangerang City Government.

In his address, the Mayor of Tangerang explained that the revision of the RTRW is an important guideline for developing strategic areas, attracting investment, and building sustainable infrastructure.

“This spatial revision is not just about physical development, but how we balance economic growth with environmental sustainability. Community participation is greatly needed so that every decision can provide real benefits,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Mayor of Tangerang, while closing the event, also appreciated the various inputs from participants. These included issues of infrastructure, drainage, and the organization of street vendors (PKL). He emphasized that the success of city management requires the collaboration of all elements of society, including village heads, neighborhood and community unit leaders, and community figures.

“Let’s maintain, advance, and love our city. If not us, then who else,” he urged.

Regarding street vendors, he reminded them to only trade in designated locations for public order. Drainage, which already covers over 80% of the area, must also be maintained to function optimally and be free of trash. He affirmed that all environmental management issues require the active role of the community. The results of this Public Consultation are expected to foster synergy for a more organized, harmonious, and sustainable development of Tangerang City.

“Every small step we all take will have a major impact on the city’s future. Let us together realize a better Tangerang City,” he concluded.
