Supported by global research, Coway develops air and water solutions for a healthy modern lifestyle.
PT Coway International Indonesia develops global research-based air and water purification technology to support the healthy lifestyle of modern society.
The increasing public attention to health and environmental quality drives the need for household appliances that can support a healthy lifestyle.
Responding to this need, PT Coway International Indonesia continues to develop various research-based innovations to provide water and air purification solutions that meet consumer needs.
The South Korean company relies on science and data-driven technology development to create a more comfortable and healthy living environment for the community.
This innovation development is supported by the Coway R&D Center, which is the largest research and development center for water and air solutions in Asia.
The research center, established in 1993 and located in Seoul National University Research Park since 2008, is the source of various Coway innovations now used in more than 50 countries, including Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, and the United States.
With support from over 300 researchers, the Coway R&D Center develops various environmental home appliances, ranging from water purifiers, air purifiers, bidets, to mattresses.
In addition to focusing on technology, the research center also studies consumer behavior, lifestyle patterns, and environmental conditions to produce products that are more suitable for community needs.
Innovation developed by the company not only focuses on technology, but also on the benefits that users can directly feel.
“With strong global research and technology development support, we continue to present products designed to support a healthier, more comfortable, and modern quality of life,” it was stated.
Up to 2025, Coway has recorded more than 5,591 intellectual property rights. The company is also supported by 44 certified water sommeliers from the Korea International Sommelier Association (KISA) and the Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water).
And also 20 Certified Water Specialists (CWS) accredited by the Water Quality Association (WQA) of the United States.
Coway’s research capability is also supported by the Environmental Analysis Center, which has been recognized as a Drinking Water Inspection Agency by the South Korean Ministry of Environment and an International Testing Laboratory by the Korean Accreditation Organization (KOLAS).
Coway is also the first company in South Korea to be appointed as a RoHS testing laboratory by TÜV SÜD Europe and a Technical Service Provider by the Water Quality Association (WQA).
In product development, Coway utilizes a data-based system through the Water Map and Air Map Service.
The Water Map was built from the analysis of approximately 2,700 water quality data points in 41 countries, while the Air Map Service processes more than 120 billion air quality data points from various environmental and climate conditions.
This approach is used to generate solutions that are more suited to the characteristics of each region, including Indonesia.
The latest results of Coway’s development are realized through the launch of two air purifier products, namely Squarefit and Squarebig.
Both devices are designed by combining air purification technology, utilization of air quality data, and design tailored to the needs of modern society.
Squarebig can reach areas up to 79 square meters and is equipped with real-time air quality monitoring features for large rooms.
Meanwhile, Squarefit features a slim design and silent operation technology designed for homes with more limited space.
Both products are also equipped with Air Matching Filter technology that allows users to adjust the filtration system based on the air conditions in their home environment.
“Through innovations like Squarefit and Squarebig, we want to show how research and technology can be translated into solutions that are close to consumer needs,” it was concluded.
