Motorcycle theft syndicate raided by Metro Tangerang City Police at a rented house in Tigaraksa, Tangerang Regency.

The Mobile Unit of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Metro Tangerang City Police successfully dismantled a motorcycle theft syndicate operating in the Greater Tangerang area.

During the operation, police secured five suspected perpetrators identified as DA, FS, A, MD, and D, and seized six motorcycles believed to be stolen.

The arrests were made on Thursday night, June 4, 2026, at a rented house in Kampung Bugel, Kaduagung Village, Tigaraksa District, Tangerang Regency.

The case began with a report from a victim named Nico Arvendo, who lost his Honda Beat motorcycle in the Teluknaga area.

The victim parked the motorcycle on the porch of his house with the handlebars locked. When he was about to go to work the next day, the vehicle was gone.

“The perpetrators allegedly damaged the gate lock and ignition key before fleeing with the victim’s vehicle.”

As a result of the incident, the victim suffered a loss of around 11 million rupiah and reported it to the Metro Tangerang City Police.

Based on the report, the Mobile Unit team conducted a series of investigations.

Eventually, police received information from the public about a rented house suspected of being used as a storage site for stolen motorcycles.

“We followed up on the public information with an investigation. After confirming the whereabouts of the perpetrators, the team immediately conducted a raid and successfully secured five individuals along with evidence.”

During the raid, police found six motorcycles of various brands, four T-shaped keys, eight modified key bits, two sharp weapons in the form of knives, one airsoft gun, several vehicle license plates, and a grinding tool allegedly used to make theft equipment.

From the examination, two of the detained perpetrators, A and MD, admitted to carrying out at least 10 actions in the City of Tangerang and Tangerang Regency along with two accomplices who are now on the wanted list.

“The two perpetrators acted as riders, while the two other perpetrators who are still at large acted as executors or vehicle pickers.”

Meanwhile, two other perpetrators, DA and FS, admitted to involvement in the theft of a Yamaha NMax motorcycle in the Tigaraksa area along with another perpetrator who is also still at large.

From the development of the investigation, police are still hunting for several other perpetrators allegedly part of the motorcycle theft network.

The quick work of the Mobile Unit team in uncovering the case and rescuing several stolen vehicles was appreciated.

“This disclosure is a form of our commitment to eradicating street crime, especially motorcycle theft, which is very disturbing to the public.”

The success of this case disclosure was also inseparable from the active role of the community in providing information to the police.

“We thank the community for helping provide information. Collaboration between the police and the community is very important in uncovering various criminal acts.”

The public was urged to increase vigilance when parking vehicles and use additional security to reduce the risk of theft.

“I urge the public to always use double locks, park vehicles in safe places, and immediately report if they notice any suspicious activity. Do not hesitate to use police services through the 110 call center to report crimes or security disturbances.”

Currently, investigators are still developing the perpetrator network, including hunting for several suspects who have been placed on the wanted list.

The police are also tracing the possibility of other locations used as storage sites for stolen vehicles.

The perpetrators are charged with aggravated theft and/or possession of sharp weapons and/or firearms as referred to in Article 477 and/or Articles 306 and/or 307 of Law No. 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, with a maximum prison sentence of 10 years.
