Perumdam TB Repairs Damage to Clean Water Distribution.
Repair of clean water distribution lines by Perumdam Tirta Benteng.
TANGERANG – The Regional Public Water Company of Tangerang City announced that the clean water distribution disruption occurring over the past two days has been successfully resolved.
Repairs to the main distribution pipeline, which was the source of the issue, were completed early Friday morning (09/12), and water flow has now gradually begun returning to customers’ homes.
The disruption occurred due to a leak in a large-diameter main distribution pipe, affecting clean water supply to several areas, particularly in the Karawaci, Periuk, and parts of Jatiuwung districts.
“Our technical team, along with partners from PT AKT, worked around the clock to complete the repairs. Thankfully, by Thursday night into early Friday morning, the leak was successfully addressed. Water is now starting to return to residents’ homes, although it is not yet 100% normal as we are still in the normalization and flow adjustment phase.”
Distributed Clean Water Using Tanker Trucks
During the disruption period, clean water was distributed using tanker trucks to affected customers. Support was also provided by several regional agencies in Tangerang City, from the Parks Division of the Culture and Tourism Office to the Regional Disaster Management Agency, which assisted in providing tanker truck fleets for clean water distribution.
“We extend our appreciation and thanks to all parties who have helped, including the relevant regional agencies that provided fleet support. We also continue to keep reporting channels open through our 24-hour call center and official social media to serve customer needs and complaints.”
Currently, the normalization process is still ongoing and is expected to take one to two more days for water distribution to fully return to normal.
“We understand the public’s concerns, and we assure you that our entire team is working to the fullest. We are not standing idle. Information is continuously being shared, and services remain operational. Customer feedback and suggestions are an important part of improving our services going forward.”
