Persita Tangerang suffered another poor result after losing 0-1 to Bali United in the continuation of the 29th week of the BRI Super League 2025/2026 at Banten International Stadium, Thursday, April 23, 2026.

The only goal was scored by Diego Campos through a penalty execution in the 61st minute, a decision that drew protests from the home side.

Persita coach Carlos Pena openly questioned the referee’s decision, which he felt harmed his team.

“Yes, this is a tough day for us because we faced this match with full spirit, we wanted to get three points today,” said Pena after the match.

He felt his team did not deserve to lose, especially since Persita played more aggressively than the opponent in the first half.

“But today I think football was unfair to us. I don’t remember any clear chances from Bali United in the first half. In the second half, we started better than them.”

The situation turned after the penalty moment, which originated from an incident involving Pablo Ganet.

“But the referee decided that Pablo Ganet’s movement was a penalty. He didn’t check, they didn’t even check. I think at least there was a situation that needed to be checked because Pablo fell to the ground and the ball came directly to him. He jumped, and I think it was a rebound ball, but they didn’t check,” said Pena.

After falling behind, Persita tried to play more aggressively by bringing on attacking players. However, these efforts did not produce an equalizing goal.

On the other hand, a penalty opportunity for Persita was canceled after a VAR check.

“Our penalty was checked by the referee for seven or eight minutes. And we couldn’t score a goal. So this is a sad day for us, for all the players, for everyone at Persita. But we will not give up. We will fight hard until the last match,” continued Pena.

Throughout the match, Persita was actually able to create several chances. Igor Rodrigues also performed quite well between the posts with some important saves. However, effectiveness in the front line once again became a problem.

This defeat dropped Persita’s position to ninth place with 41 points, directly overtaken by Bali United, which now has 42 points.

In the next match, Persita is scheduled to face PSIM Yogyakarta in an away game on April 30, 2026.
