The Tangerang Regency Government recorded that 78,504 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in its area were operational in 2025.

The Regent of Tangerang stated that the number of operational MSMEs increased by 17,000 compared to 2024.

“In 2024, the number of MSMEs in Tangerang Regency was 61,000. One year later, specifically in 2025, the number of MSMEs grew by 17,000 to around 78,000,” said the Regent.

The Regent revealed that most MSME actors in Tangerang Regency are female.

He hopes that by starting businesses, these women can ease the economic burden on their families at home.

Furthermore, the Regent noted that the majority of MSME actors being women represents the government’s effort to promote gender equality in the region.

“Most of these business actors are female, so we continue to champion gender equality in Tangerang Regency,” he explained.

The Regent hopes that these female entrepreneurs can contribute to the economic turnover in Tangerang Regency.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Cooperatives and MSME Office of Tangerang Regency stated that all 78,504 existing business actors have obtained a Business Identification Number (NIB).

“Around 70 percent of these business actors are women,” she said.
