SURABAYA – BEM FISIP at University of 17 August 1945 (UNTAG) Surabaya held BAMBERS 2026, a badminton competition among student organizations (Orkem) within FISIP, on Friday, May 9, 2026. The event, held at GOR Suryabaja (GSB), carried the theme “Break Your Limit, Get Your Energy.”

The activity began with participant registration at 8:50 AM Western Indonesian Time, followed by the opening ceremony and matches between teams representing student organizations.

The tournament was competitive and sportsmanlike, starting from the preliminary rounds, semifinals, third-place playoffs, to the final match. After all matches concluded, the committee announced the winners as a form of appreciation for the participants’ performance during the competition.

Beyond being a sporting event, BAMBERS 2026 also served as a platform to strengthen solidarity and togetherness among FISIP students. The enthusiasm of participants and the support from spectators enlivened the matches from the beginning to the end of the event.

The head organizer of BAMBERS 2026 expressed appreciation to all student organizations that participated in the event.

“Thank you to the FISIP ORKEM friends who attended this event. Hopefully, through this activity, we become more solid and can move forward together with the same spirit,” said the head organizer.

A representative from DPM FISIP noted that BAMBERS is a positive means to build relationships among students through sports activities.

“The BAMBERS event is a way to strengthen togetherness and solidarity among students. We hope positive activities like this can continue in the future,” said the representative.

Appreciation also came from a representative of HIMANATA, who assessed that BAMBERS successfully created a competitive atmosphere while strengthening relationships among student organizations.

“We thank all the BEM committee who organized BAMBERS. This event serves as a platform to strengthen solidarity, sportsmanship, and togetherness among ORKEM in FISIP. The spirit of both participants and supporters was also extraordinary,” said the representative.

They hope BAMBERS can continue to be held regularly and feature other sports to make the event even more lively.

Meanwhile, a representative of HIMANITA provided input regarding the match system for the next BAMBERS implementation.

“Yesterday’s badminton event was exciting, but maybe in the future, several rounds could be arranged so that losing participants still have a chance to compete again,” said the representative.

Through BAMBERS 2026, BEM FISIP UNTAG Surabaya hopes that the spirit of sportsmanship, solidarity, and togetherness among students can be maintained and serve as an inspiration for other positive activities on campus.
