A total of 719 out of 1,381 graduates from various study programs at Sari Mutiara University (USM) Indonesia participated in the Graduation Ceremony for Period II of the 2025/2026 Academic Year held at Griya Benn. The remaining 662 graduates will participate in the graduation ceremony the following day.

The graduates came from various educational levels, including Diploma III, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees.

The Rector of USM-Indonesia congratulated the graduates participating in the ceremony. The Rector reminded them that by attending this graduation, the graduates would bear higher responsibilities than when they were still students.

“To all graduates, I congratulate you. Continue to develop yourselves. Keep learning, don’t be easily satisfied. The world is constantly changing. Nothing is certain in this world except uncertainty itself. I hope all graduates who are being released can always adapt,” said the Rector of USM-Indonesia.

The Rector also asked USM-Indonesia alumni to continue learning and thinking critically. “Whatever you gained on campus can become provisions when you’re outside. As graduates of Sari Mutiara University Indonesia, you should always be ready to keep learning,” they emphasized.

On this occasion, the Rector also revealed several achievements that USM-Indonesia has accomplished throughout this year.

Among them is the success in maintaining the “Excellent” rating for the Master of Public Health study program. Additionally, the Communication Science study program successfully achieved an “Excellent” rating.

“This is an achievement that we are proud of, but it also becomes our shared responsibility. How USM-Indonesia graduates can demonstrate that this assessment is not mistaken,” they said.

The Rector stated that USM-Indonesia has received many opportunities from the government. This shows that the government has given its trust to the university.

“We are grateful that the government trusts us, is willing to give us opportunities and chances to collaborate on government programs,” they said.

One example is when USM-Indonesia received trust from the National Library and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology to organize a Community Service Program with a literacy theme.

In this program, 160 students participated as literacy activists in 20 libraries spread across Deli Serdang.

“So when you study at Sari Mutiara University Indonesia, you’re not only asked to learn in the classroom. But also how students can convey ideas, suggestions, and the knowledge they possess to the community,” said the Rector.

The Rector revealed that USM-Indonesia has a vision to enlighten life. However, this effort to enlighten is not only by providing knowledge but also by instilling positive character so that students have values of honesty, self-control, and courtesy.

“We try as much as possible to shape the character of all graduates. So that you all have high value. This is what I always convey to all of us that we must have high value. Examples of good character are being honest, having self-control, and being courteous,” they explained.

The Rector also hopes that USM-Indonesia graduates can demonstrate excellent character based on the values of Spiritualism, Intellectualism, Professionalism, Nationalism, and Globalism (STRoNG) as the university’s hallmark.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Sari Mutiara Indonesia Foundation thanked the parents who have entrusted their children’s education to Sari Mutiara University Indonesia.

The Foundation Chairman also said that USM Indonesia has achieved many advancements, such as successfully maintaining the “Excellent” rating for the Master of Public Health study program. However, the Foundation Chairman reminded the entire USM-Indonesia academic community not to become complacent with the progress achieved.

The Foundation Chairman also stated that to enhance the skills of students, USM-Indonesia has established cooperation with Onodera User Run Co Ltd from Japan. Onodera User Run is a workforce recruitment company from Tokyo, Japan.

Through this cooperation, USM-Indonesia students will receive various free trainings
