Prince Al-Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal Al Saud, known as the ‘Sleeping Prince,’ has died after spending more than twenty years in a coma resulting from a severe car crash. At just 15 years old, while studying as a military cadet in London, he was involved in a devastating traffic accident in 2005 that caused severe brain injuries and internal bleeding.

Prince Al-Waleed, the eldest son of Prince Khaled bin Talal Al Saud, announced his passing in a post on X.

“With hearts that trust in God’s will and decree, and with deep sorrow and grief, we mourn the loss of our beloved son, Prince Al-Waleed Bin Khalid Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God have mercy on him, who passed away today.”

Despite receiving urgent medical care and assistance from American and Spanish specialists, he never fully regained consciousness.

For over 20 years, Prince Al-Waleed remained in a mostly unresponsive comatose state, though occasional involuntary movements provided fleeting hope. His father, Prince Khaled, publicly rejected suggestions to withdraw life support, steadfastly believing in his eventual recovery.
