In celebration of its 55th anniversary, the Regional Christian Education Council (MPKW) of North Sumatra and Aceh held a health social service for residents around its secretariat on Jalan Gaperta, Medan. This activity demonstrates care without distinction of ethnicity, race, or religion.
The social service, which took place from 08:00 to 13:00 WIB, included free health checks such as blood sugar, uric acid, blood pressure, and general examinations. Additionally, elderly residents aged 50 and above also received free reading glasses.
This activity is a tangible form of care for the surrounding community.
“We may not offer much, but this is proof of our sincerity in helping residents maintain their health. We hope it benefits those who underwent examinations,” it was stated.
The implementation of this activity was supported by various parties. Health examinations were conducted in collaboration with the Medan City Health Office through the Helvetia Community Health Center, while the distribution of reading glasses was facilitated by the Surya Kebenaran International Foundation (YSKI) and the DPD PWKI of North Sumatra.
It is hoped that this social service will inspire others to be more caring towards one another. “We want this activity to foster social awareness within the community,” it was said.
Local residents welcomed the activity positively. They felt assisted by the free health services and distribution of reading glasses and hope similar activities can continue.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Health Office of Medan, represented, appreciated this activity.
“The Medan City Government welcomes this activity as it aligns with the Mayor’s vision and mission to improve health services and raise public awareness about the importance of healthy living,” it was stated.
