The Medan Branch of the Indonesian Tax Consultants Association (IKPI) held a meeting with the Medan Belawan Primary Tax Office.
The Chairperson of the IKPI Medan Branch stated that the meeting aimed to strengthen relationships and establish closer cooperation, as well as to discuss collaboration between the IKPI Medan Branch and the Medan Belawan Primary Tax Office in the field of taxation.
The Head of the Medan Belawan Primary Tax Office welcomed the visit from the IKPI Medan Branch board.
The meeting began with an introduction of the attending IKPI Medan Branch board members.
The delegation included the Chairperson, the Vice Chairperson II, the Vice Treasurer, the Coordinator for Members in the fields of PPL, Education, and Brevet, and Members for Social Affairs, Sports, Development, and Outreach.
The Chairperson explained the national profile of IKPI and the role of the Medan branch in supporting the professionalism of tax consultants in the region.
It was emphasized that IKPI continues to strive to the utmost to carry out its development functions, despite facing several limitations.
“We hope that the cooperation between the Medan Belawan Primary Tax Office and IKPI will continue sustainably. We are also ready to synergize in supporting increased taxpayer compliance and improving the quality of the tax consultant profession,” stated the Chairperson.
Various activities of the IKPI Medan Branch were also conveyed, such as conducting Brevet A/B tax courses, providing free tax consultation corners for the people of Medan and surrounding areas, PPL seminars, social activities, and fulfilling invitations as resource persons at various universities, institutions, and other organizations.
It was noted that nationally, IKPI currently has 46 branches and 13 regional boards throughout Indonesia and is part of the international tax consultant association, the Asia Oceania Tax Consultants Association (AOTCA).
In response to the positive intentions from the IKPI Medan Branch, the Head of the Medan Belawan Primary Tax Office expressed appreciation and hoped that this meeting would strengthen the synergy between the office and the IKPI Medan Branch.
The Head of the Tax Office introduced the heads of sections and supervising examiners within the Medan Belawan Primary Tax Office and expressed support for the planned cooperation.
“Whoever comes, whether from IKPI or other parties, we will serve to the best of our ability. We hope this cooperation can run well and we can mutually support each other in taxpayer development,” it was said.
During the meeting, steps related to strategic issues and several technical points were discussed, including the implementation of the Coretax system for tax return reporting starting in 2026, the importance of activating Coretax accounts for taxpayers, and a reminder for tax consultants to always carry their IKPI Medan Membership Card when requiring services at the Medan Belawan Primary Tax Office.
Several officials from the Tax Office also provided input, including the hope for a list of IKPI members to facilitate coordination, and a recommendation for tax consultants to ensure their clients’ data, such as phone numbers and email addresses, are valid to streamline communication.
Through this meeting, both the IKPI Medan Branch and the Medan Belawan Primary Tax Office are committed to enhancing synergy and strengthening collaboration in creating a professional, transparent, and integrity-based tax ecosystem.
The meeting concluded with the presentation of souvenirs and a plaque from the IKPI Medan Branch to the Medan Belawan Primary Tax Office, along with a group photo symbolizing the established good relationship and the commitment to sustainable cooperation between the two parties.
