The Golkar Party’s North Sumatra Regional Leadership Council held a social service event for residents living at Seruwai Flats in Medan Labuhan District, Medan City.
This social service activity was held to celebrate the 61st Anniversary of the Golkar Party. The distribution of basic food packages was carried out directly by the Chairman of Golkar’s North Sumatra Regional Leadership Council along with management officials.
The Chairman stated that this social service is not only conducted during specific moments like general elections. This activity proves that the Golkar Party is always present among the community.
“Thank God, all residents of Seruwai Flats received basic food assistance. This is a form of our concern and the Golkar Party’s commitment to the community. We want to show that the Golkar Party is not only present during elections but is always among the people,” he said.
The Chairman mentioned that this activity is the smallest part of what the North Sumatra Golkar Party does. Under his leadership, concern for the community continues to be enhanced through the Golkar Party.
“This social service is a small part of our efforts to always be with the people. What we are doing today is the Golkar Party’s mandate to always be present and become a solution to various problems faced by the community,” he added.
The Chairman also requested all Golkar Party Regional Leadership Councils in districts/cities throughout North Sumatra to do the same. Golkar cadres should not be reluctant to listen to complaints and help the community.
“We want Golkar to be closer to the people, and the people to increasingly feel the benefits of the political party’s presence. Not just promises, but real evidence. That is the spirit of the Golkar Party’s 61st Anniversary,” he concluded.
A resident of Seruwai Flats expressed gratitude to the North Sumatra Golkar Party, especially to the Chairman who has lightened the community’s burden by distributing assistance.
“Thank you to the Chairman and the Golkar Party for the basic food packages. We feel cared for and this really helps us, especially with the current difficult economic conditions,” said a resident of the flats.
In addition to distributing basic food packages, the activity also included discussions with residents living in the flats.
