This patrol was led directly by the Operations Bureau Chief of Metro Jaya Police, involving 324 personnel who were divided into three target areas.
“The patrol activity is carried out to provide protection to the community, to provide a sense of security,” said the Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Police at the Monas area, Jakarta, on Sunday, August 31, 2025.
Police also thanked the community and all parties who have together made real commitments.
Actively participate in creating a conducive public security and order situation in the legal area of Metro Jaya Police.
The three target areas for patrols are: the first group moving towards North Jakarta, East Jakarta, and Central Jakarta.
The second group moved towards West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and South Jakarta, while the third group targeted South Jakarta to Depok.
The police stated that police precincts and sectors across the 13 legal areas of Metro Jaya Police also carried out similar duties.
“Tomorrow, similar activities will also be conducted, and this activity also involves several parties, jointly joining with the military ranks and the Jakarta Provincial Government,” they said.
The police stated that the patrols were carried out with a humanistic and persuasive approach.
“We also continue to build communication, actively cooperate in making persuasive appeals, and are always supported by religious figures, community leaders, and youth figures. They are together in the field,” the spokesperson said.
The police urged the public to remain calm amid the wave of protests occurring in Jakarta over the past week.
If there are any anarchic actions, they stated, the Police will act firmly but still proportionally according to applicable procedures.
“There are stages of activities or police efforts that have been understood by our members in the field,” they said.
Starting from appeal activities, education, persuasion, increased police presence, and firm commitment if anarchic actions or behaviors by irresponsible parties are found.
