The ‘Kapolri Cup 2025 Shooting Championship’ was officially opened at the Brimob Headquarters in Depok. General Sigit competed against three ministers.
Observations at the location revealed that three ministers competed against General Sigit: the Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, the Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman, the Minister of SMEs Maman Abdurrahman, and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Taufik Hidayat.
They were seen wearing safety goggles before shooting at their targets. Each participant took turns shooting in their designated competition area. After finishing, General Sigit and Zulhas were seen laughing together.
General Sigit stated that 1,033 participants took part in the competition. The participants included military and police personnel, ministry representatives, and members of the public.
“We are also holding the Kapolri Cup shooting competition as part of the Bhayangkara anniversary celebrations. This year, 1,033 participants from the military, police, and general public are competing over four days,” said the National Police Chief.
Hopes for Discovering Shooting Athletes
He mentioned that the Kapolri Cup 2025 Shooting Championship also included exhibition matches. Various ministries were invited to participate in the competition.
“Today, there is also an exhibition match attended by invited ministries, law enforcement officials, military personnel, and other relevant stakeholders,” he added.
He explained that the event aimed to strengthen solidarity and synergy among ministries while fostering teamwork.
“This event is intended not only to enhance solidarity and inter-ministerial synergy but also to strengthen teamwork in carrying out joint efforts,” he said.
The National Police Chief hopes the competition can help identify potential athletes who can be trained to support the shooting sports discipline.
“In general, we hope this event can help discover new talents or potential athletes who can be prepared to support shooting sports. It serves as a platform to scout future athletes and maintain the skills of national athletes who participate,” he concluded.
