Depok City – A mother named Lia shared her first experience contacting the 110 call center. Lia requested assistance from 110 to check on a bag containing her daughter C’s (age 7) tablet, which was left at a fried chicken stall on Jalan Sabang, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (14/5) early morning.
“Initially, there were four of us: me, my husband, and our two children, eating at a fried chicken stall on Jalan Sabang, on Wednesday (13/5) around 11:30 PM local time,” Lia said on Thursday (14/5/2026).
They originally planned to eat there but canceled because their youngest child was fussy from being sleepy. Lia then decided to take their order to go.
“Now, at that time, my daughter was carrying a bag with a tablet inside. She put it under the table near the chair. Then, because my youngest child was fussy, we finally decided to take away the order, and I went back to the car with my two children while waiting for my husband,” she explained.
After the order was ready, Lia and her family went home to Depok, West Java. They forgot their daughter’s bag. Upon arriving home, Lia’s youngest child cried upon realizing her bag was missing.
“I was confused and tired because it was already midnight. If we went back there but the bag wasn’t there, I thought we would just waste time and energy. Then I remembered the 110 call center. I tried calling, and it turned out the call was connected to the Depok Metro Police, not the Central Jakarta Metro Police, because I was already in Depok,” she revealed.
Lia contacted 110 for the first time to ask for help. Initially, she felt pessimistic, but the Depok Police 110 call center responded to her call and helped connect her to the Central Jakarta Metro Police call center.
“In short, the Central Jakarta Metro Police 110 call center also received the call and responded very well and quickly. Basically, I asked the police officer to check on my daughter’s bag that was left there,” she said.
Lia did not expect that the Central Jakarta Metro Police 110 call center would also fulfill her request by sending a member of the Menteng Sector Police to the location. Within minutes after contacting 110, Lia was contacted by a Menteng Sector Police officer who had already arrived at the location.
In short, a police officer from Menteng Sector Police named Joko arrived at the location. Lia then gave directions to the food stall where her daughter’s bag was left to the Menteng Sector Police personnel via a video call.
“Not long after, Mr. Joko from Menteng Sector Police video-called me from the food stall and showed my daughter’s bag, asking, ‘Isn’t this your daughter’s bag?’ And it turned out it was still there, kept safe by the stall owner,” she revealed.
“So, initially, I was pessimistic. I thought, ‘It’s midnight, and I’m asking this police officer to help with such a trivial matter. Would he even want to?’ But it turned out the 110 call center really did follow up on my report, and thankfully, the bag was still there,” she said.
Lia appreciated the promptness of the 110 call center and the police personnel who followed up on her report.
“I greatly appreciate the police officers; the 110 call center was truly helpful. I express my gratitude to the Depok Police 110 Call Center, the Central Jakarta Police, the police officers at Menteng Sector Police, and also the Subdit Resmob of the Jakarta Metro Police, because at the same time, I also asked for help from Subdit Resmob. Thank you to the Chief of the Central Jakarta Metro Police and the staff. Reporting to the police was not in vain. This was my first time trying to contact 110, and I was truly served well,” she said.
