Rules for Taxes on Buying and Selling Antam Gold

Before transacting directly at a gold boutique, make sure you understand the applicable tax deduction regulations. Based on Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 34/PMK.10/2017, here are the provisions:

1. Tax on Gold Purchase: Every transaction for purchasing gold bars will be subject to Income Tax (PPh) Article 22 of 0.25 percent for buyers who provide a Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP). This transaction will then be immediately accompanied by a PPh 22 withholding slip as a basis for your annual tax reporting.

2. Tax on Resale (Buyback): If you sell gold back to PT Antam Tbk with a total transaction value above Rp 10 million, then tax will be deducted directly from the funds you receive with the following rate details: 1.5 percent for NPWP holders and 3 percent for non-NPWP holders.
