DEPOK (05/06/2026) – The national electronic sports industry is preparing to make a strategic leap to strengthen its position on the international stage. Through the momentum of the Indonesian Esports Association (IESPA) 2026 National Conference, the organization’s highest authority is consolidating a draft macro-synergy among industry players to boost the competitiveness of local talent at the global level. This top forum, held in Jakarta on June 5-6, serves as a meeting epicenter for central and regional officials, industry players, game publisher corporations, esports enthusiast communities, government representatives, and strategic sponsors to formulate a manifesto for the future work agenda of domestic esports.
The General Chair of IESPA outlined a draft of high optimism, stating that the expansion of cross-sector collaboration will construct esports into a main supporting pillar for the growth of the creative economy and domestic digital ecosystem, while also positioning Indonesia as the epicenter of esports civilization in the Southeast Asian region. Throughout its tenure, IESPA has consistently focused its work agenda on strengthening organizational structure and fostering a professional, healthy, and sustainable ecosystem. Through the 2026 National Conference, which carries the grand theme “Building an Inclusive, Professional, and Global Indonesian Esports Ecosystem,” the association affirms its commitment to tightening competition regulations in a more structured manner, encouraging athlete performance standardization, expanding the network for nurturing young talent, and strengthening partnerships with the government and private sectors to boost the diplomatic reputation of Indonesian esports in the eyes of the world.
A paradigm shift is also one of the crucial points raised, where electronic sports are no longer viewed merely as conventional entertainment. It is explained that esports has evolved into an elite subsector of the future digital industry with a very broad economic impact chain, ranging from human resource potential development, tourism sector stimulation, to the massive creation of new jobs in Indonesia. Therefore, this year’s National Conference is designed to resolve a series of important operational agendas, including organizational plenary sessions, presentation of accountability reports from the previous administration, formulation of a draft national work program for the next period, and the election and ratification of a new management structure.
This grand agenda, attended by at least 90 official delegate participants representing constituents from 34 provinces, also serves as the highest appreciation stage for all gamer communities and regional officials who have dedicated their work over the past five years. Through the implementation of an integrated work agenda after this National Conference, IESPA is projected to be able to bring the national creative digital industry to move more tactically, independently, and inclusively in securing the highest achievements on the international stage.
