About 14 minutes later, a green taxi was reported to have stalled on the tracks in the East Bekasi area. At 8:48 PM, KRL 5181B on the Cikarang-Jakarta route passed and collided with the stalled taxi.
According to Dudy, the incident triggered a crowd of residents at the location as many people stopped to see what happened.
“A crowd formed as residents came to see the accident site or the collision,” he added.

On the opposite track (Jakarta-Cikarang route), KRL 5568A departed from Bekasi Station at 8:45 PM heading to East Bekasi Station. The train experienced a travel delay of eight minutes.
The train heading to Cikarang arrived at East Bekasi Station at 8:49 PM. The train was already nine minutes late.
Dudy said that at that time, KRL 5568A briefly departed from East Bekasi Station. However, the train stopped due to a crowd of residents on the tracks ahead.
“The train had started, but it stopped or halted because there was a crowd ahead watching the collision site,” he said.

Then, Dudy mentioned that the Argo Bromo Anggrek train passed through Bekasi Station at 8:51 PM, three minutes early, at a speed of 108 kilometers per hour. The Argo Bromo Anggrek train then struck KRL 5568A near East Bekasi Station around 8:52 PM.
“The collision occurred at 8:52 PM,” Dudy said.
This accident resulted in at least 16 fatalities and 90 others injured. All victims were KRL passengers, while there were no casualties among the Argo Bromo Anggrek passengers.
The evacuation of victims took about 12 hours, concluding on Tuesday (April 28) morning.
