KOTA BEKASI — PT Sinergi Patriot Bekasi (Perseroda) is pushing for the expansion of the household natural gas network (jargas) in Bekasi City by proposing an additional 20 thousand household connections (SR) to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).

This step was conveyed by the President Director of PT Sinergi Patriot Bekasi, M. Aldo Sirait, while accompanying a visit from the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) together with PT Pertagas Niaga in Rawalumbu District, Bekasi City, on Friday (22/5/2026).

Aldo stated that the high public interest in using the natural gas network is the main reason for proposing the new additional connections.

“Sinergi Patriot has submitted a proposal for an additional 20 thousand household gas connections to the ESDM for the Bekasi City area. We hope for support from BPH Migas so that this proposal can be realized soon,” Aldo said in his statement.

According to him, the use of natural gas is increasingly favored by residents because it is considered more economical, practical, safe, and environmentally friendly compared to using LPG cylinders.

In addition to relying on support from the central government, the company is also seeking to increase gas connections through various investment cooperation schemes, both with the private sector and the government.

Furthermore, Sinergi Patriot is also opening up development opportunities through independent schemes involving local government subsidies and community participation.

“We want the people of Bekasi City to have easier access to more efficient natural gas energy. Therefore, collaboration from all parties is needed so that gas network development can run optimally,” he said.

Currently, PT Pertagas Niaga together with PT Sinergi Patriot Bekasi manages a total of 4,857 household gas network connections in Bekasi City.

The Head of BPH Migas, Wahyudi Anas, welcomed the enthusiasm of Bekasi City residents towards using natural gas. According to him, the development of the household gas network indeed needs support from the central government, local government, and business entities so that services can run sustainably.

“We have received various aspirations from the community who want to use natural gas. The financing scheme is being formulated, which could be through the state budget (APBN) or regional budget (APBD),” Wahyudi said.

He confirmed that the natural gas supply in the Bekasi area is still sufficient to support the addition of thousands of new connections.

On the other hand, residents of Rawalumbu who have been using natural gas acknowledged feeling the direct economic benefits. The Head of RW 037, Bojong Rawalumbu Subdistrict, Bambang Suharyono, stated that using natural gas is much more economical compared to LPG.

“Now, public interest is very high. If the installation cost is more affordable, the potential could reach tens of thousands of households in Rawalumbu,” he said.

A similar experience was shared by a resident named Sutaryoto, who feels more comfortable using natural gas because it is available 24 hours a day without needing to replace gas cylinders.

“In the past, using LPG was troublesome, now it’s more practical and economical,” he said.

Beyond households, the natural gas network is also utilized by the Al Hikmah Grand Mosque in Bojong Rawalumbu to support the Friday Blessings social activity, which routinely provides hundreds of food packages for local residents.

Through the synergy between BPH Migas, Pertagas Niaga, and PT Sinergi Patriot Bekasi, the expansion of the natural gas network in Bekasi City is expected to continue growing and reach more people.
