BEKASI CITY – The Bekasi City Spatial Planning Department stated that the billboard located on Caman Road does not yet have a Building Construction Approval (PBG) permit. The large billboard is threatened with demolition by the Bekasi City Government.
In a written statement, the Spatial Planning Department said it had sent a first invitation letter to the owner of the billboard on Caman Road in early August. However, the billboard owner, PT. Asoka, did not attend to fulfill the invitation from the Bekasi City Spatial Planning Department.
“The billboard structure belongs to PT. Asoka Perkasa Kemala Cipta. The structure does not yet have a PBG, and Invitation Letter 1 was sent by the Spatial Planning Department via letter no. 600.2.19/434/UPTD WASBANG WIL.VI dated August 1, 2025, but the owner did not come to attend the invitation,” wrote the Spatial Planning Department in its statement.
The Bekasi City Spatial Planning Department itself will again summon the billboard owner. If, during this summons, the owner still does not complete the PBG licensing, the Spatial Planning Department will not hesitate to send a letter to the DBMSDA to demolish the billboard located on Caman Road.
“Invitation number 2 will be delivered soon. If the owner does not immediately complete the PBG licensing and the enforcement mechanism has been met, demolition by the DBMSDA will be promptly followed up, in accordance with the duties and authority for regulating billboard structures,” emphasized the Spatial Planning Department.
Confirmation has been sought from the representative of PT. ASOKA regarding the billboard on Caman Road. However, there has been no response.
It was previously reported that the billboard on Caman Road, Bekasi City, is suspected of violating regulations because it stands over a water channel and the sidewalk, and it continues to be a focus of attention.
There is a strong suspicion that the installation of the billboard was not accompanied by an official permit from the Bekasi City Government, such as a Building Construction Approval (PBG).
The Bekasi City Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) has highlighted this issue and urged the Bekasi City Government to take action against this unlicensed billboard, which also has the potential to harm Local Original Revenue (PAD).
