Bandung –
Over a dozen streetlights on the bridge leading to the Tegalluar High-Speed Train Station are reported to be out. This situation has raised concerns among residents crossing the area and those heading to the station.
Based on observations on Sunday (April 19) evening, approximately 11 streetlights were seen not working along the bridge. These lights are spread from the exit access of SOR GBLA Road to the bridge that leads directly to the station.
This situation was complained about by Wawan (46), a resident who was picking up his child at the station. He highlighted the uneven lighting conditions along the route.
“Some are on, some are off. The ones that are off should be turned back on so that the access road here is bright,” said Wawan while waiting for his child to exit the station.
According to him, properly functioning streetlights are crucial for ensuring the safety of high-speed train users, especially at night.
“Yes, they must be on, this is also for the safety of passengers. Many people come here to take the high-speed train,” said Wawan.
Not only on the main route to the station, but several streetlights pointing towards the underpass and residential areas are also seen to be off. This further increases the concerns of the local community.
A similar complaint was voiced by Mardiansyah (27), a resident of Cibiru Hilir, Cileunyi District. The man, who goes by Dian, stated that the bridge is not only used by high-speed train passengers but is also an important access route for local residents.
“From here, you can go to the residential area. So that we can all pass comfortably, the streetlights must stay on,” said Dian.
He also added that the poorly lit road conditions are often taken advantage of by motorcyclists speeding, potentially endangering other road users.
“Well, I hope it gets fixed, so that the streetlights that are off can be turned on again,” he hoped.
Besides the bridge leading to the KCIC station, streetlights are also observed to be off in the GBLA Stadium area and along SOR GBLA Road, particularly near the organic waste management area. This condition further underscores the need for immediate attention and repair from relevant parties for the comfort and safety of the public.
