The manager responded calmly to the rival club’s move to hire a coach and bring in new players for the 2026/2027 season.
According to him, each club has its own strategy for building team strength. Therefore, he is not worried about the transfer activities of his rivals.
“Ah, no problem, whoever they want to sign. We are not intimidated,” he said when met in Bandung.
The man, affectionately called Pak Haji Umuh, emphasized that he remains optimistic that Persib Bandung can compete at the top and maintain the performance shown in recent seasons.
He even hinted that Persib Bandung is still preparing a surprise in this transfer window. Although he did not reveal the specific figure, Umuh Muchtar mentioned that the President Director of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat, Glenn Sugita, is preparing an important step to strengthen the team.
“Later, Mr. Glenn will also make a surprise. God willing,” he said.
However, Umuh Muchtar admitted that so far there has been no leak about new players who will join Persib Bandung. According to him, the entire process is still ongoing, and management has not made a final decision.
“Not yet. The players are also on break now, resting first,” he said.
Besides waiting for new players to arrive, Persib Bandung is also still evaluating the squad composition. Several players are confirmed to leave the team, while others are still waiting for certainty regarding their future.
Umuh Muchtar revealed that this situation is not much different from what Persib Bandung experienced last season. Player changes are part of the team refreshment process to maintain competitiveness in an increasingly tight competition.
“Who leaves and who stays is still being processed. Many are also leaving, just like last year,” said Umuh Muchtar.
With the transfer window still ongoing, the fans are now awaiting the surprise promised by Persib Bandung management to welcome the 2026/2027 season.
