A nostalgic and warm atmosphere filled the Fun Fishing With Persib Legend event, held at Umuh Muchtar’s fishing pond in Ciluluk, Tanjungsari, Sumedang Regency.

The event, attended by approximately 50 Persib Bandung legends, created a different atmosphere as former Maung Bandung players competed for bait, not on the green field, but on the fishing pond.

This activity was not just entertainment. It served as a gathering and nostalgic event for Persib legends who had carved the golden history of West Java’s proud club.

Persib Bandung Manager and Commissioner of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat (PBB), Umuh Muchtar, appeared enthusiastic about participating in the event. He stated that this activity revived sweet memories from when he was a fanatic supporter to now serving as team manager.

“I’m happy with the fun fishing event with Persib legends. This brings back beautiful memories from when I was a supporter until now becoming manager. There are many memories from these Persib legends,” said Umuh.

Umuh considered that events like this are a form of appreciation for legendary players who have fought to build Persib’s name. According to him, togetherness with the legends reflects the family spirit that has always been the strong foundation of the club nicknamed Maung Bandung.

“I’m very happy with this event. Seeing the legends still united and full of spirit makes me proud. This reminds me of the beautiful times with Persib Bandung,” said Umuh.

Umuh hoped that the Fun Fishing With Persib Legend activity could become a regular agenda. He mentioned that the spirit and dedication of the legends inspire the younger generation to continue loving West Java’s proud club.

“We want events like this to continue. Persib is not just a football club, but also a big family. From the past until now, the spirit remains the same,” emphasized Umuh.

Meanwhile, former Persib Bandung player and coach, Djadjang Nurdjaman, also known as Djanur, also expressed great enjoyment of the gathering moment.

He considered the fun fishing event as a unique way to strengthen bonds among fellow legends and club management.

“Very happy of course with Fun Fishing With Persib Legend. Because we can gather not only on the field, but also socialize in other ways,” said Djanur.

On that occasion, Djanur also expressed appreciation to Umuh Muchtar for his dedication and commitment to Persib. He called Umuh a figure who played a major role in Persib’s modern journey.

“I’ve known Mr. Haji Umuh for quite some time. He has contributed greatly to Persib. Mr. Haji said he is forever for Persib. Thank you Mr. Haji for many real contributions to Persib,” said Djadjang.

Djanur also recalled the moment when he was first trusted to coach Persib in 2013. He admitted he was initially doubtful because he didn’t have much coaching experience at the highest level, but Umuh’s trust made him dare to take that big challenge.

“At that time I didn’t have much experience, suddenly appointed to coach Persib. I didn’t know what was in his mind, but I took that challenge. Alhamdulillah, finally in 2014 we became champions,” he recalled.

Meanwhile, the committee chairman expressed gratitude for the smooth running of this warm event. He said this activity proves that the family spirit within Persib remains maintained across generations.

“Alhamdulillah the event went smoothly. We’re happy to see Persib legends gathering at this fun fishing event. Usually we see legends handling the ball, now we see them handling bait for fishing,” he said.

Throughout the event, an atmosphere full of laughter and camaraderie continued to flow. The legends exchanged stories about glory days, historic matches, to funny behind-the-scenes moments.

For most participants, this activity was not just about fishing, but also “fishing for memories” of unforgettable past times.

Fun Fishing With Persib Legend proves that the spirit of togetherness and love for Persib Bandung never fades. From the green field to the pond edge, the legends remain united in spirit: maintaining the
