Bandung

Persib Bandung is still in a euphoric mood after winning the Super League 2025/2026 title. The Maung Bandung squad made history as the first club to achieve three consecutive championships.

However, amidst the euphoria, fans are still anxious. Because until now, Persib coach Bojan Hodak has not signaled whether his contract will be extended or if he will leave the club next season.

On social media, speculation about Bojan Hodak’s fate has already emerged. Some say Bojan will not extend his contract, but many fans still want to see the Croatian man standing alongside Persib on the sidelines.

One figure who wants Bojan to stay is Persib manager Umuh Muchtar. During the championship convoy event, he openly expressed his desire for Bojan to remain with Persib, even aiming for a fourth consecutive title.

“We must keep all the coach’s input. Hopefully, the coach will still be with us. Next time, champion again for the fourth time,” said Umuh on Sunday (May 24).

Umuh repeated his statement during a thanksgiving event at his residence in Tanjungsari, Sumedang, on Monday (May 25, 2026). According to Umuh, Bojan Hodak’s contract is currently being discussed with Persib.

“The coach is having a discussion with Glen (Glen Sugita, President Director of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat) today. There should be a decision this afternoon. (Now) The players are on break first,” he said.

Regarding Bojan’s fate, management has not yet made any statement to the media. However, long before that, during his contract negotiations, Bojan highlighted one crucial issue that he believes needs immediate improvement: upgrading training facilities for the Maung Bandung squad.

Bojan’s contract will end on May 31, 2026, coinciding with the conclusion of the Super League 2025/26 competition. But instead of just discussing contract duration or value, the Croatian coach emphasized the importance of facility standards as a foundation for team performance.

“I always try to improve the training standards (facilities), because that’s what we need. Players need better standards. Throughout Indonesia, even in Southeast Asia, there is still a lack of training fields,” said Bojan on Wednesday (April 15, 2026).

According to him, training facilities are a primary need that every professional club must have. He even compared it to conditions in Europe, which he considers far more prepared, even at the lowest competition levels.

“This is the number one facility that every club must have. In Europe, even the seventh division has training grounds. Maybe not the best, but they have them. Because the stadium cannot be used for training continuously, it will get damaged,” he said.

Bojan believes that facility improvement is not just about comfort, but is directly related to player performance and fitness. He acknowledged progress in some aspects, but much still needs improvement.

“That’s what we are looking for. I think some facilities have improved. But we still need to upgrade the gym and medical facilities. You can see this year the medical team is much better, and injured players are not as many as last year,” he revealed.

Additionally, the quality of the training field is also a serious concern. Bojan mentioned that the current condition can still be improved to minimize the risk of player injuries.

“The quality of the training field must also be improved. Our field is not bad, but it can still be better because it affects the low number of injuries. This is important for all clubs,” he said.

Nevertheless, Bojan emphasized that the push for facility improvement is not a strict condition in his contract negotiations. He stated that it is part of his commitment to take Persib to a higher level.

“It doesn’t mean I make it a strict condition, but I always encourage management to improve training facilities,” Bojan asserted.
