A man with the initial E, a suspect in a sexual assault case involving a minor in Cimaung District, Bandung Regency, has been apprehended. The perpetrator is currently detained at the detention center.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit stated that the case was first reported by the victim’s mother in May 2025. Since the report was filed, investigators have followed legal procedures.

“The handling of this case proceeded according to standard operating procedures, from investigation to suspect designation. The suspect has been arrested and detained,” said the official on Friday.

Although there were reports suggesting the case handling was slow, police confirmed there were no obstacles in the investigation process.

“Based on examination results, the incident began when suspect E invited the 15-year-old victim into his rented room. The victim initially refused, but the perpetrator forced her by pulling her hand into the room,” the official explained.

After locking the room door, the perpetrator laid the victim on the bed and committed the deplorable act.

“We also discovered that the perpetrator attempted to record his actions with a mobile phone but failed because the victim resisted,” the official revealed.

Following the incident, the perpetrator checked outside the rented room to ensure there were no eyewitnesses to his actions. Police then processed the case and obtained two sufficient pieces of evidence to designate E as a suspect.

“After obtaining two pieces of evidence, we arrested E,” concluded the official.
