IndiGo’s flight 6E-1089 from Mumbai to Phuket, Thailand, was diverted to Chennai Airport late Friday night following a bomb threat. CISF personnel and airport officials inspected the aircraft and found it to be just a rumor. They reported that further investigation into the matter is ongoing.

According to information, the airline stated that the flight from Mumbai to Phuket on September 19 was diverted to Chennai due to a security threat. Following standard procedures, authorities were immediately informed, and necessary security checks were conducted on the aircraft in Chennai.

A statement mentioned that due to a night curfew at Phuket Airport, the journey will resume late at night. To minimize passenger inconvenience, refreshments are being provided, and continuous updates are being shared. IndiGo said that the safety of passengers, crew, and the aircraft is their highest priority, and every effort is being made to minimize the inconvenience.

Earlier, on September 6, an IndiGo flight from Kochi to Abu Dhabi had to return to Kochi due to a technical issue. The pilot decided to safely land the flight back to ensure passenger safety.

On Saturday morning, the IndiGo flight had taken off from Kochi International Airport for Abu Dhabi. Approximately two hours into the flight, a technical issue was detected. Prioritizing safety, the pilot then decided to return the flight to Kochi.
