A dangerous criminal who committed murder in Kerala and fled has finally been apprehended by law enforcement after three months. The accused had escaped from a mental hospital in Kerala and traveled to Mumbai, where he was hiding while working as a scrap dealer. He was arrested by the RPF. Here is the full story.

Kerala

Kerala is a state on India’s southwestern Malabar Coast, renowned for its lush backwaters, tropical greenery, and vibrant cultural heritage. Historically, it was a major spice trading center for centuries, attracting merchants from Phoenicia, Rome, the Arab world, and later European colonial powers like the Portuguese, Dutch, and British. Its unique society was shaped by this trade, along with ancient traditions like Ayurveda, classical arts such as Kathakali, and a history of progressive social reforms.

Mumbai

Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay, is a major port city on India’s west coast and the financial capital of the country. Its modern history began in the 17th century when it was ceded to the British East India Company, and it later grew into a global trade hub. Today, it is a bustling metropolis famous for its Bollywood film industry, colonial-era architecture like the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, and vibrant street life.

RPF

“RPF” most commonly refers to the **Rwandan Patriotic Front**, which is a political party in Rwanda, not a physical place or cultural site. It was founded in 1987 by Rwandan refugees in Uganda and played the central role in ending the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. The RPF has been the ruling party in Rwanda since 1994, overseeing the country’s post-genocide reconstruction and governance.

Kerala Police

The Kerala Police is the primary law enforcement agency of the Indian state of Kerala, formally established in 1956 following the state’s reorganization. Its modern structure is rooted in earlier systems from the princely states of Travancore and Cochin, and the British-administered Malabar district. Today, it is recognized for several pioneering initiatives in community policing and the use of technology in India.
