• Are the Sidhus looking towards the BJP: There is a strange turmoil brewing within Punjab’s politics, especially within the Punjab Congress. Leaders who somehow won the last assembly or Lok Sabha elections have plenty of work to keep themselves busy, but what about those who have been sitting idle for a long time? Meanwhile, a new round of speculation has begun in Punjab’s political circles: it seems the Sidhu family is once again looking for a ‘system’ within the BJP. Is this really the case? Let’s try to find out.

The Sidhu family is upset with the Punjab Congress!

A lot has happened inside the Punjab Congress over the past two months. Speaking of December 2025, first, former Amritsar East MLA Navjot Kaur Sidhu was suspended by the Congress. On January 31st, she announced she was leaving the party, and the party did not delay in expelling her. However, her husband, cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is still in the Congress, gave a sharp reaction to this announcement, calling the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, “Pappu.” Now, as you all know, this is a derogatory term allegedly used to mock him, which Rahul Gandhi’s political opponents use to target him. For example, the famous poet Kumar Vishwas allegedly uses the term “Chintus” to mock someone.

What is going on inside the Punjab Congress?

The Sidhu family has been sitting resentfully against the entire Punjab Congress leadership for the past few months and has been spitting fire against them. Particularly, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Amarinder Raja Warring is in the Sidhu family’s crosshairs. Both husband and wife curse him morning and evening. For a recent example, look at a sharp comment on social media at the end of last month, where Navjot Kaur accused Warring of alleged corruption and internal sabotage while singing praises of the Bharatiya Janata Party and PM Modi. It is from that very post that these speculations are being made that the Sidhu couple is looking for a way, a ‘system’, to return to the BJP. The same BJP with which they started their political career many years ago.

Five CM faces in the Congress: Kaur

Not only that, before being suspended, Navjot Kaur had alleged that whoever gives a suitcase of 500 crore rupees becomes the Congress’s chief ministerial face. She also said that her husband would return to active politics only if he was offered the chief minister’s post. However, it does not seem this will happen because there is already so much infighting within the Congress that they will not let Sidhu Sahib be promoted, as there are already five CM faces present who are determined to defeat the Congress to shine themselves. Although, it’s a different matter if the high command also understands all this.
