Not only that, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has also sent a message about this on social media.

On this day, the Chief Minister wrote, “Today, as Chief Minister, I consider myself fortunate to take a significant and positive step. On August 9, 2024, in the case of the brutal murder and rape of sister ‘Abhaya’ at R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital, permission has been granted to the ED to take legal action against the then infamous superintendent of R.G. Kar, Sandeep Ghosh, according to legal procedures, to convict him.” It is relevant to note that the RG Kar case is again coming up in the Calcutta High Court.

On this day, the Chief Minister wrote, “The previous Trinamool Congress government had forcibly and unethically stalled the investigation process of this case for a long time. But we believe no one is above the law. The truth cannot be suppressed.”

Today, Tuesday at 1 PM, the RG Kar case is scheduled to be heard before the division bench of Justice Sampa Sarkar and Justice Tirthankar Ghosh, according to reports. Abhaya’s parents have demanded the death penalty for the convicted Sanjay Roy. Abhaya’s mother, Ratna Debnath, has sought justice for her daughter’s death. She had made this demand in the court of the people. Now, in the assembly elections, she contested and won from the Panihiti constituency on a BJP ticket. She has appealed to the current Chief Minister of the state, Suvendu Adhikari, seeking justice in the RG Kar case.

Meanwhile, the state government has suspended former Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal (currently ADG IB), then DC Central Indira Mukherjee (currently Special Superintendent of CID), and then DC North Abhishek Gupta (Commanding Officer of EFR 2nd Battalion). Not only that, instructions have been given for a departmental inquiry against them. Amidst this, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has urgently summoned Health Secretary Narayanswami Nigam.

Meanwhile, the state government has suspended former Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal (currently ADG IB), then DC Central Indira Mukherjee (currently Special Superintendent of CID), and then DC North Abhishek Gupta (Commanding Officer of EFR 2nd Battalion).

Later that night, Suvendu Adhikari made that tweet regarding the Sandeep Ghosh issue. He further wrote, “The previous Trinamool Congress government had forcibly and unethically stalled the investigation process of this case for a long time. But we believe no one is above the law. The truth cannot be suppressed. I want the real culprits of sister Abhaya to be identified quickly, receive the harshest punishment, and the people of Bengal to witness justice. I pray for the eternal peace of sister Abhaya’s soul.”
