No ship, no plane, and no road access: Do not travel to Iran by any means; advisory issued

Do not travel to Iran: Amid ongoing heavy tensions in the Middle East, the Indian Embassy in Tehran issued an advisory on Thursday, strictly warning and instructing Indian citizens not to travel to Iran under any circumstances or by any means. This recent warning was issued in response to reports of some flight services potentially resuming between India and Iran. Warnings have been issued before

It should be noted that earlier on February 23, due to the possibility of potential US military action, India advised all its citizens in Iran to leave the country immediately. The Indian Embassy had issued emergency numbers and asked people to go to safe places by flight or any available means.

In an advisory issued on January 14, 2026, it was stated that Indian citizens in Iran should stay away from any kind of protests, crowds, or unsafe places, keep getting updates on the situation through local media, and maintain constant contact with the Indian Embassy. The embassy also said then that all Indians should always carry their passports, visas, and identity cards with them so that evacuation or travel procedures can be completed quickly if needed. Meanwhile, advising contact with the embassy in case of any difficulty, it issued helpline numbers and email IDs for emergency assistance.
