The Trinamool Congress’s All India General Secretary was supposed to appear at the CID office on Monday, but he avoided the summons. The Diamond Harbour MP had already left for Delhi on Saturday. Today, Monday, Abhishek is attending the India alliance meeting alongside Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee. Meanwhile, CID officers arrived at his Kalighat residence this Monday afternoon. Abhishek’s name has been implicated in the case of forged signatures of MLAs. The CID has initiated an investigation into the matter. Officers want to interrogate Abhishek in connection with the forgery case. He has been summoned again to appear tomorrow, Tuesday.

Subsequently, citing illness, Abhishek avoided the first CID summons on June 1. He requested 15 days to appear at Bhavani Bhavan. But he was ordered to appear within 7 days, i.e., today.
