Hyderabad, Two people, including an elderly woman, died after falling from heights in separate incidents within the limits of Meerpet and Madhapur police stations. Meerpet police reported that Surendra Reddy, originally from Rajamahendravaram, had come to his son’s house in Venkataramana Colony, Meerpet, two days earlier with his wife Ramashayam Geeta Reddy (61). His son had purchased a flat on the seventh floor of an under-construction building where work was still ongoing. The couple had come to see their son’s flat.
On July 24, both went to the seventh floor to see the flat. During this time, Geeta Reddy became tired after climbing the stairs. She sat near the lift block on the seventh floor. Accidentally, she lost her balance and fell into the lift block. Severely injured, Geeta Reddy was admitted to Kamineni Hospital, where she passed away the next day.

In another incident, Madhapur police stated that Harijan Bala Swamy (32), a resident of Site 3 Borabanda, worked as a mason. For the past few days, he had been working at an under-construction building in Madhapur. Yesterday, while working, he accidentally fell from the scaffold. Due to severe head injuries, he was taken to a private hospital, where he died shortly during treatment.
