Hyderabad, Following the directives of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the Telangana government has formed a special committee to identify activists who participated in the state movement and to honor their services and sacrifices. The General Administration Department issued an order in this regard on Friday.

The government made this decision after a long-standing demand to officially recognize the contributions of those who were martyred, physically disabled, or imprisoned during the movement. The committee will be chaired by government advisor K. Keshav Rao. Ministers Ponnnam Prabhakar, MLC Professor Kodandaram, MLC-Whip Adanki Dayakar, former MLC S. Ramulu Naik, and Mothe Shobhan Reddy have been included as members. The Political Secretary of the General Administration Department has been appointed as the convenor of this committee.

The committee’s main task will be to prepare clear criteria for activists, compile a list of them, and make recommendations to the government regarding the honors and facilities to be provided. The committee has also been authorized to summon officials, gather information, and hold meetings as needed. The government has directed that all departments provide necessary cooperation to the committee, and that the committee submit its report as soon as possible.
