Hyderabad: Recalling the problems faced by farmers due to the shortage of urea in the state, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president and former minister K. Tarak Ramarao said that before the elections, he had warned not to trust the false promises of the Congress and get cheated, but no one listened. Now, in the 20 months since coming to power, the Congress has betrayed the public by not fulfilling a single promise.

Addressing an event at the BRS headquarters Telangana Bhavan where some leaders joined BRS in the presence of KTR, K. Tarak Ramarao said that now is the right time to take revenge on the Congress by voting against them in the local body elections and ensuring BRS’s victory. He said that the public has forgotten the 10-year rule of KCR, which is why they are now facing the urea crisis.

KTR accused the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of betraying Telangana and said that both parties are the same when it comes to betrayal. He said that the BJP-led central government has betrayed Telangana by not granting national status to the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project and the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project. He said that the central government has done injustice to Telangana in implementing the promises made in the bifurcation act, investment, and establishment of industries in the state.

KTR said that the Defense Corridor was denied to Hyderabad and taken to Bundelkhand, and the BJP government also canceled the ITIR project, which resulted in many unemployed people losing their jobs. He alleged that there is an internal understanding between Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which has put Telangana’s future at risk.

Referring to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s visit to Osmania University for the inauguration of a building, KTR sarcastically remarked that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is roaming around with scissors in his pocket. He said that the buildings whose foundations were laid by former Chief Minister KCR are now having their ribbons cut after the construction work is completed.
