Hyderabad, After a day of relief in Telangana, the sun has started showing its intensity again. Following mild relief on Wednesday, strong sunlight and scorching heat on Thursday left people distressed across the state. Temperatures are rising rapidly in several districts, including the capital Hyderabad, while severe heatwave conditions persist in northern and eastern Telangana.

According to the weather department, temperatures in many districts of northern and eastern Telangana could reach 43 to 45 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, in Hyderabad, the mercury is likely to remain between 40 and 42 degrees Celsius. Due to strong sunlight and hot winds, movement of people on roads was sparse during the afternoon.

However, light thunderstorms and rain are expected in some districts between evening and night. Rain with thunder and lightning may occur at isolated places in Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Rangareddy, Nalgonda, and Yadadri-Bhongir districts.

Light rain is currently ongoing in Bhadradri and Khammam districts, but meteorologists say this rain will soon subside, and the weather will become dry again afterwards. The weather is expected to remain completely dry in most other districts of the state. Weather experts have advised people to avoid going outside in the afternoon, drink plenty of water, and stay alert against heatwaves.

Chief Minister issues instructions to stay cautious

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials and the general public to remain cautious regarding the rain situation, in view of the orange alerts issued by the weather department in several districts. The Chief Minister instructed officials to make additional arrangements at paddy procurement centers and to speed up the paddy procurement process at all centers.

Adequate tarpaulins should be arranged to protect the paddy stored at procurement centers from rain. Additionally, where procurement is complete, tarpaulins should be transferred to other centers in need. Following warnings of strong winds and rain from the IMD, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also appealed to people to take precautions and stay alert.
