Hanamkonda (Telangana), Indian athletics has gained another young star reaching new heights. Talented long jump athlete CV Anurag from Kerala made history at the Indian Open Under-23 Athletics Competition by clearing the eight-meter distance, joining the select group of Indian athletes to achieve this feat.
Kerala’s long jump athlete CV Anurag joined the prestigious eight-meter club on Friday, winning the gold medal on the second day of the Indian Open Under-23 Athletics Competition. Anurag improved upon his own meet record of 7.87 meters set in 2024 by jumping 8.06 meters.

This was Anurag’s personal best performance. The 21-year-old athlete broke the eight-meter barrier on his second attempt. His first jump measured 7.88 meters. After the 8.06-meter jump, he recorded jumps of 7.96 meters, 6.62 meters, no mark, and 7.88 meters.
