Srinagar, The Counter Intelligence branch of the Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a search at Srinagar Central Jail on Saturday in a case linked to terrorist activities, recovering various digital communication devices and objectionable material.

The case has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The search operation was carried out in coordination with the prison administration after receiving credible information about the presence of suspicious digital signatures within the central jail premises. Officers of Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) seized various digital communication devices and objectionable material during the search.

The recovered items will be sent for forensic examination as part of the investigation into the case. The Special Branch of the Jammu and Kashmir Police is investigating a security breach that allowed these items to enter the jail premises. The role of facilitators and accomplices involved in the case will be examined and appropriate action will be taken against them.
