Hyderabad, The traffic police of Hyderabad caught a total of 474 vehicle drivers driving under the influence of alcohol during a special campaign on May 15 and 16.
According to a press release issued by the City Police Commissioner, a total of 474 drunk drivers were caught during the two-day special campaign, including 417 two-wheelers, 24 three-wheelers, and 33 four-wheelers. Among these cases, 103 drunk drivers had a BAC level between 30 and 50 mg. Additionally, 188 drivers had levels between 51 and 100 mg, 100 cases had between 101 and 150 mg, 44 cases had between 151 and 200 mg, 19 cases had between 201 and 250 mg, 8 cases had between 251 and 300 mg, and 12 cases had a BAC level above 300 mg.

The traffic police made it clear that no concessions will be given in drunk driving cases. This special campaign will continue further. The police appealed to all vehicle drivers to cooperate and follow traffic rules.
300 cases registered against drivers in Cyberabad
The traffic police of Cyberabad registered cases against a total of 300 drunk drivers during a weekend search operation.
The traffic police reported that the 300 cases involve 253 two-wheelers, 9 three-wheelers, and 38 four-wheelers. Among these, 232 drivers had alcohol levels between 36 and 100 ml, 35 drivers had levels between 100 and 300 mg, and 33 drivers had levels between 300 and 500 mg.
323 drunk drivers caught in Malkajgiri
The traffic police of Malkajgiri caught a total of 323 drivers under the influence of alcohol during a special campaign against drunk drivers between May 10 and 16.
The traffic police reported that cases were registered against 23 drunk drivers by Alwal traffic police, 56 by Tirumalagiri traffic police, 22 by Begumpet traffic police, 18 by Gopalapuram traffic police, 21 by Malkajgiri traffic police, 66 by Jawaharnagar traffic police, 9 by Uppal traffic police, 48 by L.B. Nagar traffic police, 14 by Vanasthalipuram traffic police, and 10 by Kushaiguda traffic police.
In addition, over the past week, 1,289 cases of using mobile phones while driving, 2,026 cases of triple riding, 1,447 challans for overspeeding, 2,533 cases of signal jumping, 7,047 cases of driving in the wrong direction, and 10,777 challans for illegal parking were issued.
